Global Outreach Blog: Day 4 in Haiti

This week, the Vineyard Cincinnati Church Global Outreach Team is in Haiti ministering at children's homes with Back2Back Ministries. Check out Janie's latest blog post about their adventure in Haiti.

Day 4: Tuesday, May 16, 2017

Today after breakfast we began a prayer tour. This consisted of visiting several partnered children's homes and the new site for Back2Back Ministries' campus property. At each stop, we were given some history and specific prayer requests.

We started at the Lighthouse, Back2Back's first partnered children's home, and learned about the home's director, Lauren. At just 23 years of age, Lauren gave up the life she had to invest into the lives of so many at the children's home.

We set out to pray over Back2Back's new campus site — 6.5 acres just waiting to be developed. As we roamed the new property calling out to God, a breeze reminded me of the Holy Spirit weaving throughout each one of us.

On our way to visit our last children's home for the day, we stopped by one of the many mass burial sites from the earthquake of 2010. There are an estimated 125,000 bodies buried at this one site. It was very surreal to know that so many lives were taken and laid to rest on this one hillside.

Though life has its challenges, I've noticed one thing by listening to every story being told — God is at work weaving us through this journey called life.
