Icebreaker: Have you ever had a moment when you felt like something “just happened” at exactly the right time — a conversation, an encounter, a connection? What happened?
- The message said, “We don’t need to be more weird than we have to be.” What do you think it means to be yourself while still being open to what God might want to do through you? What makes that difficult sometimes?
- We often think we need to be more gifted, knowledgeable, spiritual, or confident before God could use us. What tends to make you feel unqualified to share your faith or pray for someone?
- Romans 1:16 — “It is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.”
- Jesus said, “The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing.” What do you think it looks like in everyday life to pay attention to what God might already be doing around you?
- The message gave us two simple questions: “Holy Spirit, what are you doing?” and “How can I participate?”Which of those questions is easier for you? Which one is harder? Why?
- Think about the places you naturally go during the week — work, school, the gym, a coffee shop, the grocery store, your neighborhood. What might change if you started seeing those places as opportunities for God to use you rather than just places you happen to be?
- Sometimes the biggest barrier isn't that we don't know enough — it's that we're afraid to take the first step. What's a small risk you could take this week to be more open to what God might want to do through you?
- The message said that a naturally supernatural life involves both gospel proclamation and gospel demonstration. What are some ways we can show the love of Jesus through our actions while also being willing to use our words when an opportunity comes?
- 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 — “My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power.”
- What would it look like this week to simply become more available to God? Who is one person or situation you could begin praying for with, “Holy Spirit, what are you doing here, and how can I participate?”
- Acts 8:4-8 — Philip proclaimed Jesus, and people saw the power of God at work. “So there was great joy in that city.”
