Wired starts Friday, Feb. 16 at 6:30pm and ends on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 12:00 Noon.
What is Wired? It's a weekend retreat for 7th & 8th grade students and their parents on Feb. 16 & 17 where we explore God's pure design of sexuality. Our goal is to encourage student growth in discernment and to initiate a conversation between parents and students.
At Wired 2018 we will be focusing on the worldwide epidemic of internet pornography. Pornography has been coined "the new drug". The staggering statistic concerning pornography and our youth culture is that 93% of boys and 72% of girls are exposed to internet porn before the age of 18. The church and family must openly address this issue and be ready to equip students with the necessary tools to navigate the dangerous territory of pornography.
We try to balance the heavy conversations with FUN: Competitive Laser Tag, Tin Foil Fashion Show, Inflatable Obstacle Course, and build your own Nachos & Ice Cream Sundaes.
NOTE: Parents this event may require some extra encouragement from you. Due to the sensitive, personal content students may be apprehensive to attend. It is a common response to shy away from the awkward, but often when we engage in those moments it results in growth.
Check-in:
6:30-7:00pm at the STUDENT UNION on Friday, February 16. The first session will begin at 7:00pm. Parents will be invited to special parent sessions on Saturday* (childcare provided). The event is over at 12:00pm on Saturday, Feb. 17.
*Parent Session:
9:30am - 12:00pm Childcare is available during the parent sessions at no cost. Refreshments available at 9:00am. Registration is required for childcare. Check-in for childcare begins at 9:00am and pick up by 12:00pm. If childcare is needed, you will be prompted within the registration.
Packing List:
A change of clothes, sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries (no showers), Bible, journal, and any necessary medications inside a Ziploc bag (with clear instructions).

2. Complete and return the Wired Student Medical Waiver.
Registration Single Normal: $35.00 Registration fee covers snacks as well as breakfast on Saturday.
